Strategy
Lewis Rumpler is a successful life science entrepreneur. His longtime interest in biology grew from his time at the University of Washington where he received degrees in Biology (BS) and Zoology (BA) in 1980. Since that time in a career spanning over 35 years he has served in numerous senior leadership roles, that include CEO, COO and CFO of both for profit and non-profit enterprises and co-founded numerous life science companies. Most recently he was co-founder and CEO of Epigenesys, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company and co-founder and CEO of Athira Pharma (formally M3 Biotechnology), now a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company on the NASDAQ. Both were based on technology licensed from WSU. Rumpler served as Executive Chairman of Inherent Biosciences during its formative stage and now serves as a Sr. Advisor.
“My interest in molecular epigenetics and the role it plays in reproductive health span over a decade based on innovations discovered in the Skinner Lab at WSU. I have known Andy Olson since our time together at Signature Genomics and assisting Andy and the team has been one of the great privileges of my career. With Andy’s leadership, Inherent Bio has made advancements in molecular epigenetics and sperm biology, supporting improved reproductive outcomes that will be transformative. The company has a tremendous opportunity to impact patients’ lives and has a team with the capacity to execute. Inherent is clearly a company that will make a difference in the quality of life for patients.”
